Round 2: It’s not all about winning!

Posted By: Rise Team|Dated: November 3, 2011

Dear Spark the Rise Community,

It’s been a busy, spirited round. We received an enormous amount of promising project ideas and we’ve witnessed a lot of interaction between project champions. This is exactly what Spark the Rise is about: communication and collaboration.

If your project hasn’t won this month, don’t give up! It’s not all about winning, and remember: at the end of the 6 Rounds, the Jury will select another 6 deserving projects that will be part of the Grand Finale where a total of 100 lakhs in grants will be awarded to the 4 Grand Winners.

“No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be.” Isaac Asimov

As part of our standard procedures, we conducted extensive security checks and, as a result, the list of leading projects has shifted. To ensure fairness of the program and in keeping with the spirit of Rise, we have taken the decisions to disqualify a certain number of projects. Furthermore, please note that we have changed the dates for the announcement of the winners for the upcoming rounds – these can be viewed in the “How it Works” page on the Spark the Rise website. Also, please be aware that we will no longer be accepting votes coming from users using email providers such as mailinator.com, masti4india.com or nepwk.com.

Time now to announce this month’s winning projects – five of which were decided by popular vote, three by jury selection. Check out the winners of October here!
Congratulations to all champions, volunteers, followers and supporters. Thank you for accepting no limits, thinking alternatively, and driving positive change.
