On the impact of volunteering on the worldNews & Updates | October 20, 2011
At Mahindra, we’re hard at work weaving Rise into the daily lives of our companies, customers, and employees. In addition to ongoing initiatives, we’ve launched exciting new ones. It’s been nine months since Rise’s launch, and as we approach the one-year mark, we are excited to update you on our progress and our plans.
Everyone has an opinion about what needs to be done. Now everyone has a voice. Hundreds of people have submitted projects, and they need your support to carry them out. You can volunteer for projects that need your skills—or vote for which ones should earn a grant. Login easily through Facebook or make a profile to vote for the projects you think will drive the most change.
The recent visit of Round 1 winners of Spark the Rise to the Mahindra Towers affirmed this belief. The winning project champions presented their projects with an infectious enthusiasm: it was clear to us that their ideas – diverse in scope and size – were born out of personal experience and an impressive drive.
Congratulations on a great round! It has been exciting to see Spark the Rise start to take off not just as a grant competition, but as a true community. More and more people are volunteering and offering insights on the discussion board, and communication between project champions is increasing. If your project didn’t win a grant this month, don’t give up! Build yourself a volunteer base and use Spark the Rise as a loudspeaker to attract donations
